Stari Most

Stari Most, also known as the Old Bridge, is a significant historical landmark in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Built in the 16th century during the Ottoman Empire, it was designed by the architect Mimar Hayruddin. The bridge spans the Neretva River and connects the two parts of the city, symbolizing the unity of diverse cultures. After being destroyed during the war in 1993, Stari Most was reconstructed and reopened in 2004, earning its place as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The bridge is not only a popular tourist attraction but also hosts diving competitions each year. Visitors can walk across it at any time since there are no specific Stari Most opening hours. Nearby, there are several museums and shops where you can learn more about the local history and buy souvenirs.
